We've had lots of bookish fun in Badger Class to celebrate World Book Day!  This year's theme is 'Read Your Way'.

We started the day by taking part in the National Literacy Trust's 'Booky and Footy' quiz playing online against lots of other schools around the country.  The top score in our classroom was 18 out of 20!  What a lot of bookish and football knowledge we have!

After lunch, we got out into the sunshine and had a lovely time reading outside before returning to the classroom to find the Ultimate Character Champion.  To start with, we all chose book characters that we thought were the best.  We created top trumps style battle cards considering the qualities of our characters (categories such as strength, agility and intelligence).  To get into character, we then acted out each of our rankings, thinking about what our characters would do to show how agile etc they were.  We prepared speeches, then battle it out against each other to find a winner.  We ended up with a 3 way draw between Matilda, DogMan and Harry Potter.
