We used spaghetti to experiment with different strong shapes.  Working in groups, we made simple truss bridges, joining together lots of triangles.  We thought carefully about how to use struts to stop the sides of our bridges from collapsing in or away from the road.  Finally, we tested our bridges to destruction to see how much weight they could hold.
