Our teachers are Mrs Moore and Mr Shackleton. Miss Flowers takes one of our PE lessons each week and Mrs Martinez is in our class for some of the week.
In Otter class we enjoy our year 6 responsibilities: being prefects, reading champions and team captains and help the younger children at lunchtimes.

Please see the latest newsletter for information about which homework pages to complete this week.
Remember, you have all week to write down the homework pages and do the activities. If you need any help with the homework, please come and see me during the week. Try not to leave homework until the weekend, in case something happens and you run out of time!
Anyone who wants to complete the homework at school (with support), is welcome to do it in the classroom on Wednesday lunchtime (or another day if you are on lunch duty).
The links to AR and TTRS are both below. If you need the Renaissance ID for AR, it is RP-18210958.
Before half term I challenged you to read for at least 10 minutes in an interesting place. I didn't want to miss out on the fun, so this half term, I'm taking my book with me wherever I go. Can you guess where I've been reading?

Day one:
After a great journey here, filled with beautiful singing (including renditions of the wheels on the bus, baby shark and the bluey theme tune), we found our rooms and got straight on with the first activity. One group headed to the water, the others did archery and rifle shooting.
A quick change, some dinner, and off to activity 2: rifles for the group who had already been on the water, and canoeing/kayaking for the rest!
Day two:
After a good night's sleep (but an early start for some!) we got straight on with the day!
Everyone enjoyed a lovely breakfast, then 2 activities before lunch. Another 2 activities before dinner and then some free time before our last adventure of the day! Today has included archery, climbing, grass sledging, blind trails, fencing and rifles.
Day two, continued:
Wow, what an evening!
We headed down to the bottom field where the children split into their teams to get ready for battle...face paint, team names and team chants! A few rounds of tug of war (with teachers unable to resist helping out), ending with the ultimate battle...children vs adults. Not surprisingly 6 adults just could not beat 27 children...even if we did insist of having the downhill side of the rope. I'm pretty sure the children won't be letting us forget that one!
The light was fading but that didn't stop the fun, with lots of crazy team games, many involving hi vis jackets and a lot of spinning.
Back up to the castle and we said goodnight to the instructors before heading back to the rooms, except instead of going straight to bed, we got out the glow sticks (courtesy of Mrs Fulcher), turned on (and up!) the music and had a final night "rave"! Absolutely incredible!
Day three:
We started the day by packing ready to come home. Lots of sleeping bags didn't want to go back in their bags and packing is definitely a skill to continue practicing but there was surprisingly little left in the rooms and we were cleared up and down for breakfast by 8:20! Well done all!
After breakfast, two groups headed to the zipline while one tried their hands at fencing. Then they got their turn on the zipline while the other 2 completed the blind trail. Lots of us faced our fears today (including me, Mrs Moore). There were a couple of children who weren't sure about the zipline, even considering turning back once they were on the platform ready to go. Not only did they give it a go, but they went again, sending themselves off a second time without hesitation!
After lunch it was time to get on the coach and head home. A slightly quieter journey this time, until we got closer to home anyway!
A huge well done to all the children! They faced fears, tried new things, shown independence, resilience and determination and were a pleasure to go on the trip with. We hope they had a brilliant time and brought home lots of amazing memories! Most of all, we hope it demonstrated to them all how capable they are, how brave they can be, and how amazing it feels to overcome something that might seem difficult or scary!
They were amazing.
