4. Our Procedures
The register is taken at 8:50am. The staff take the register directly on Scholarpack.
They are able to mark present or absent and can record a note if appropriate.
Office staff then check the registers to ensure that any further notes are added (from face-to-face conversations, telephone calls, voicemail messages or emails).
The registers close at 9:20am. Children arriving after this time are considered late and will be marked U (Late - after the registers).
The afternoon registration will be at 1. 00 pm. The registers will close at 1.25 pm.
Any absence will be followed up if a concern or if a parent/carer has not communicated the reason with school.
A parent has a legal responsibility to ensure that their child attends school regularly. If a child is unavoidably absent from school parents are expected to contact school by telephone call on the morning of the first day of absence and on each subsequent day, identifying the reason for absence and the expected date of return. If no contact is received, then absence protocols will be instigated.
If a child is absent from school the parent must follow these procedures:
This year our target for attendance is 98%.
Every child should aim for high attendance. We understand that some children need to take time off for hospital appointments or have a chronic illness may lead to further time off. However, all children should aim to "BE THEIR BEST" and this means having attendance that is the best possible for that child.
If your child is sick or has diarrhoea they must take 48 hours from the last episode to recover. It is not acceptable to take time off for treating head lice.
No holidays will be authorised. If holidays are longer that 5 school days the Attendance Process will begin.
If your child has a large amount of absent days the the Attendance Process will begin.
